Hi everyone, been so long since I updated my thots..
Have been trying to settle down in my new job.
Just in case for some friends who are not updated, yes, I have changed job again. Hmm, cannot click with my that ex-manager, though she also said I have improved, but I guess, as like wat other friends of mine said, she just dun like me bah. Working under her has been demoralizing, and doing double work since she is too rigid and stubborn. That is in the past. The beautiful sight of Boat Quay and fun sessions at fitness center will be the best I missed.
Has been back to semicon line. Thot I would be doing marcom again, however, there is slight change in the designation – corporate marketing, but I think still doing marcom just that I would also be involved in corporate marketing strategies. As long as there are things for me to learn, I guess I can still stick with it for the time being bah.
It’s a Japanese company with almost all the heads are Japanese. Many people have warned me about Japanese guys.. ahaha, so far so good. Got some who are quite charming (middle-age), but some who are quite old and fatherly (older than middle-age). Might be due to language inconvenience, they do not really talk much, thus contributing to the quiet environment. The tables are very small, half of wat we have @ Future (so gers, quit complaining), side by side with one team head seated at the side. Side by side, there is no partition. Although there is one partition on the opposite, but it’s so short that it’s not worth a mention. “So small and open!” I nearly fainted on the first morning.
There is a decent pantry, with one Malay auntie always in and out of the pantry. Finally, I know she is the kind lady who will pour the boiled water into plastic jars to let us have warm water, and she is also the one going around pouring the department heads drinks and tea. When we have conference meeting, she will also be the one preparing our hot tea and warm water. Cool~ This is one extra service in this company.
Well, one bad thing here is that I cannot MSN!!! Shit.. they even block web msn, meebo, gmail, yahoo mail, hotmail..
There are other funny culture practices here: alarm at start work, end work, start lunch and end lunch. The first time I came back from lunch, I was shocked to find the office in darkness except for beams from the windows. “Power saving”, my colleagues told me. Oooo..
All in all, so far, so good. Since this is my first week, and my manager has been on course for 3 days and, I was on MC for 2 days, so quite laxed. Been studying the materials they have, but quite dry too.. Sigh.. There are many briefings and meetings to attend, till I get so sleepy, because dun really understand and I have nothing to contribute to as well.. Euuuuuuu…
There was a monthly meeting this morning, and all new comers have to introduce themselves. And for this month, there is only me, me and ME! Under the stares and smiles, I returned all the stares and smiles with a short introduction and off I ran, ahahaha…
Hopefully, I will start to get busy next week (-n-)
