I think i have been in a stream of bad luck recently..
The most recent bad luck was the worst fall from my roller blading..
Never fall till like this for the past yrs.. the most i got was a balugu on my back of my head, but this time around, i disfigured my face.
I went roller blading at east coast, the only route i trust. I am just a beginner, always falling, but always falling properly. This time round, i did not manage to fall properly and crash, my fingers were cut and with the pain, i lost my balance and strike the floor headfirst, ending up with cuts on my forehead, abrasions near the eye and mouth. I also cut my knee. I think i am lucky that i tried to roll over to my back as i crashed head down, if not, i think would be the whole left face gone.
Well, what happened was that there was a short distance of road that was blocked off for some weeks for renovation. When i went last Friday midnite, the road was opened finally. When i bladed over to the end of the Fort Road, it was very rough and up-slope to my disgust. I thought the closure should be for the better, how come it became worse! And i even told myself that i had to be careful when i came back the same route. But alas...
I was too fast and unable to balance well on the rough gaps, and err, i was also trying to protect the mp3 player on my hand, so i ended crashing, rolling and staring at the sky. Have I died? You know, there was a cyclist who went past me in the opposite direction before i fell. I think i must have fallen so quietly that he did not stop. Oh well...
I tried to stand up, and started brushing away the dirt on my hands when i felt pain. Shit, my fingers were bleeding. Immediately, i touched my face to see if there was blood. Ok, dun have, relax, i tell myself. But the stinging pain on the face? Maybe just abrasions, no blood should still be ok rite?? I started to blade back. Shit, why was i so far back at this park, and the car was beyond Mac somemore.. I picked up my pace, and while blading, the wind made the stinging pain worse. I had to cover the area from the wind and from the people. I knew there was no blood, but from the stinging degree, i guessed there should be patches liao..
Finally, i reached the car. I called for the nearest person who lived nearby, but to my dismay, he did not pick up the call. Well.. I started to call another friend, and was kind enough to volunteer to take cab now to help me. However, i thought i was able to drive to my friend's office, so i quickly cleaned the wounds with wet tissues and ouch... the real pain started to hit me. I checked the mirror and to my horror, there was a huge patch of redness below my left eyes, and a small lighter patch below my mouth. Well, i think no bleeding, still not that bad la. However, once i lifted the fringe to wipe.. shit, there was a dry trail of blood on the left forehead... Scar? How? Why? Tears started flowing, stinging the wounds even more.
Well, get going. The tearful me drove and tried to figure out my way to the office, while i contemplated crashing into the lamp pole. Heng Singapore also not too big. I reached the office and my friend came out with the first aid box. The cleansing of the wounds made me flinched, but the pain was in my heart rather than in the wounds.
The next day, i was awakened by the stinging pain on my face. I had only 3 hrs sleep, but i had to go see doc bec it was really painful. Had a cream and reduce swollen pills.
My dear friend was asking me wat was i thinking before i fell? The truth is, i was thinking of the times i was there..
