It's a movie I have watched on tv telecast on sat nite. In the first place, I thought it would be another boring slow show, however, after sometimes, I was glued to it, part of the reason - thanks to M1, because it was commerical free (except for one M1 commerical after a few min after the start of the show~) and the other reason - it was quite interesting.
About this guy who was very good in Maths and could solve codes. Well, we all know one person cannot be good in anything. So he was not good with relationship - he did not have any friend and they never mention about his family too.. (the show started him staying in uni life). However, he started to know one best buddy who was his roomate and the buddy's niece and then when he started work, he knew one agent who asked him to do highly confidential code solving for the government. He even married a beautiful student from his class (he was a lecturer as well).
Everything seems to be smooth flowing and he got very stressed over the highly-confidential work and turned out that he was suffering from mental illness. The shocking part was his buddy, the niece and the agent were all fake! They were his illusions. He imagined them! My god..
And he refused to accept the fact until he realised that the niece never grow up. After the relapse of the first treatment (he stopped medication as he wanted to think and function normally), he felt that he should be able to solve this illness with his Maths-solving ability. And the amazing part was his wife stood beside him all these years, risking being murdered by the husband one day.
He went back to the uni that he studied to study and to start work in the library and eventually, he started to give lectures in uni. Seemed that he was getting well, but in fact, these 3 people were in his sight everyday, everywhere. They talked to him, pleaded with him to talk to them, but he chose to ignore them. And ignoring them until he aged, he could still see them and you wonder if he was really cured.
He mentioned that he could not pretend they were not there, because they were part of his life in the early stages. A memory that could not be erased. He could only choose to ignore.
It makes sense. Very often, we hope that out partners would not remember their exs. However, we know that it's highly impossible. We ourselves also remember our exs. Just that whether we have parted amicably and still remain as friends or choose to be strangers.
There are some things we want, but also because we choose to ignore them if we do not need or the capability to buy. Therefore there are many things that we can choose the attitude to deal with. We can choose to be happy or miserable. We can choose to take it seriously or ignore it.
Just remember we have choices =)
